Sebastian Rueda Montes is an artist, administrator, and advocate for the advancement of the arts in Canada. For the past 6 years he has made a career out of championing artists, working closely to bring their work into the spotlight, and channeling these experiences into his own creative work.

He holds a BFA in drama from the University of Calgary and has worked with arts organizations across Calgary including Contemporary Calgary, Werklund Centre, Calgary International Film Festival, Honens Piano Competition, BUMP Festival, Chinook Blast, and many more.

His work emphasizes the physical encounter between art and audience, insisting that the culmination of the work exists in the communication held during a direct encounter between the two. Sebastian Rueda Montes uses various mediums to tell intimate autobiographical stories that reveal the role of art in community building, navigating interpersonal relationships, and in creating meaning for the individual.
